JEAN PICART LEDOUX
Born in Paris on January 31st, 1902 and died in 1982, is a French painter and painter and cartoonist of the revival of the contemporary tapestry.
He is the son of the painter Charles Picart le Doux (1881-1959).
Without specialized professional training, it makes its beginnings in the binding and the edition, then it is directed towards publicity and graphic arts and publishes its first works in 1935. Its first paperboards of tapestry go back to 1943 after having gained the Grand Prix of the poster of theater to the living room of the Imagery.
It meets Jean Lurçat and, with Marc Saint-Saëns, gather in 1947 around him for the Association of the painters-cartonniers of tapestry.
In 1950, it projects the idea of Alliance graphics international, at the time of the meeting with the exhibitors of an exposure of their work in Basle, of two other French graphic designers, Jean Colin and Jacques Nathan, and of two Swiss graphic designers, Fritz Bühler and Donald Brun. AGI is officially founded on November 22nd, 1952 and he will be the first president.
It is a large Master of the tapestry of Aubusson, which produced more than four hundred original tapestries of alive sound.
